CES and our clients are very grateful to Lindsey Anderson of 1890 Farms for a donation of freshly harvested sweetcorn dropped off at the Riverton campus yesterday.

As the air starts to get crisper and the nights slightly longer, you know September has arrived in Fremont County and also the harvest. Yesterday at our Riverton campus, clients got a real treat courtesy of Lindsey Anderson from 1890 Farms who dropped off a pickup truck load of sweetcorn.
Community Entry Services helps clients live as independently as possible and this includes helping them learn to cook, clean their own rooms and do other important life skills.
One of these life skills is making sure to have a balanced diet of fresh produce. 1890 Farms has been a great source of food for many in our community and they also excell at educating the younger generation in the art and science of farming, giving children hands on experience of where our food comes from.
Shawn Griffin, CEO of Community Entry Services was there to rally a team of client volunteers to help unload the truck.
1890 Farms' produce is available locally at Mr. D's and other retailers as well as Fremont Local Market, and restaurants.
Shucking corn, learning the different ways to safely store it (paper bags, not plastic!) and various recipes for how to best cook and serve it is a seasonal tradition and something that brings back so many sweet family memories. We're very grateful that they thought of us!
Appreciation is extended to the Wyoming Department of Family Services, the Food Works Group (FWG), and the Wyoming Legislature for their dedication to improving food production and access across Wyoming. Through funding made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 and the Infrastructure and Jobs Act, locally grown sweet corn from 1890 Farms, LLC—just north of Riverton—is being provided fresh to Community Entry Services.
