Camp Hootenanny was a success!
Fremont Youth Camp provided a safe and convenient venue for our clients to enjoy the forest, lake, and mountain experience of the Wind Rivers.

Continuing our commitment to giving our clients as many normal experiences as possible and thanks to the generous grant from Lander's Recreation Board, we were able to take several dozen clients up into Sinks Canyon for three days and two nights of adventure!
David, Vincent, Jacob and Skip had great success fishing the lake.
With a stiff wind at times and some chilly breezes, the lake proved to be full of hungry fish. Skip was pretty successful landing them! There's something amazing about being 'just one of the guys' on a dock, with a fish on the hook and the gang cheering on as you reel it in. It's magical and it's an experience we look forward to providing for our clients.
CES staff and family helped several dozen clients settle into cabins for the night after arrival last Thursday evening. Then breakfast, fishing, lunch, hikes and games were organized throughout the day on Friday.

The key to a good S'more is the right sort of fire, the right sort of friends, and the right mix of seriousness and joy as DSPs helped hustle the molten marshmellow out of the flame into the sandwich of chocolate bar and graham cracker. It's an art and skill that takes practice...and sticky fingers.

Camp Hootenanny T-shirts were a hit this year.
Looking forward to time in the outdoors is something important for us all - and something most of us take for granted as something we can just do if we put our minds to it any weekend in the summer. For CES it's a capstone event for the summer and something we plan for months in advance: starting with writing grants to Lander's Recreation Board to help pay for needed specialized equipment from wheelchair accessible portable toilets to fishing supplies to help the clients enjoy the outdoors safely. Their generosity is greatly appreciated!
Fun with the whole CES family. Thanks again for all our supporters!

The air was fresh and clear and the clouds provided a range of colors as the sun slowly set over the Wind River Mountains. Another day ended at Camp Hootenanny and the clients sang songs, told stories and celebrated another day lived with friends and fellowship.
For the dozens of clients and staff this camp has been a refreshing close of an active summer.
This camp is made available to all Community Entry Services clients who desire to attend despite the severity of their disability. Community Entry Services provides the transportation to and from the camp and works to make this an accessible camp for persons with ambulatory challenges. Additionally, adaptions are made to accommodate persons with visual and hearing impairments to maximize the benefits of attending this recreational and educational camp. Adaptations include sensory and tactile activities to make this camp inclusive to all types of disabilities.
