Meaningful work. It’s deeply important to our well-being. CES goes the extra mile to ensure our clients have access to meaningful work.

It’s our pleasure to introduce Jon, affectionately known around here as “JT.” Jon has been part of the Jackson CES community for 32 years, and since 2015 he’s been employed by the Teton County Recreation Center. Jon prefers quiet routines, familiar faces, and the comfort of a job he knows well.

For the past several years, CES staff member Ron has provided job coaching for Jon. “When we first started working together, Jon would grip my arm as we walked into the building,” recalls Ron. “Now he walks in on his own, with such determination. He goes straight to the broom closet and gets right to work. He’s got a certain swagger that I only see on his Rec Center work days.”

Purpose. 

Autonomy. 

Mastery. 

Each of these is a basic human need, most often met through our work. CES' vocational services – identifying vocational interests and abilities, engaging employers, troubleshooting, and job coaching – support meaningful work throughout the communities we serve. (To read Karla’s story, click here.)
